    Located at the north-east end of the Touques peninsula, the Bâtiment des Douanes (Customs House) is one of the oldest buildings still standing in the town. Built between 1861 and 1866, it was originally called the “Caserne des douanes” (Customs barracks).

    Renovation work involves a major restructuring of the interior and the restoration of the facade to its original state to respect the historical appearance of this emblematic building. Balconies will however be added for the majority of the apartments.

    The Bâtiment des Douanes is composed of 28 apartments from 1 to 3 bedrooms spread over 4 floors (from the ground floor to the 3rd floor).

    The lease agreement binding the owner to the operator is a commercial lease agreement and as such is subject to the provisions of articles L.145-1 to L.145-60 of the French Code of Commerce. The lessor can refuse to renew the lease agreement signed with the operator of the serviced residence. However, in this event, and notwithstanding exceptions provided for under articles L.145-17 et seq. of the French Code of Commerce, they will have to pay the operator so-called eviction compensation equal to the prejudice caused by the failure to renew. The procedures for calculation of such compensation are set out in the second paragraph of the aforementioned article L.145-14.

    When you become an owner with Pierre & Vacances Group, you will sign a 10-year lease and enjoy the benefits of simplified management:

    • Rent is secured (9): you’ll be paid rent whether your apartment is occupied or not.
    • The property is looked after by local teams who manage its maintenance, routine upkeep and housekeeping.
    • Insurance, charges (8) and tax are dealt with by the Group: you will only have to pay property tax or income-related tax.
    • Once the lease is up, you can sign a new one to ensure the Group keeps managing your property or you can sell your property on.

    • A personal online account for managing holiday bookings in your property or in another of the Group’s residences.
    • Exclusive discounts, so you can enjoy your stays even more.
